Why install a home EV charger
Oran Park is full of new two-car garages and long commutes into Sydney. Public chargers are fine in a pinch. They are a poor daily habit. A wall charger at home means you leave every morning with a full battery, on off-peak power, without queuing at a shopping centre.
Installs cover Oran Park, Gregory Hills, Gledswood Hills and the wider Camden region.
Level 2 chargers vs a standard outlet
A household 10A outlet gives you roughly 2 kW. That is 8 to 15 km of range per hour. A 7 kW Level 2 charger on a dedicated circuit gives you about 40 to 50 km per hour, an overnight full charge for most family EVs. Running a portable charger on a general-purpose circuit as a permanent setup is not recommended. It overheats outlets and is not how the wiring was designed.
Brands we install
Tesla Wall Connector, Wallbox Pulsar Plus, Fronius Wattpilot, Zappi, and other Type 2 AC chargers. Compatible with Tesla, BYD Atto 3 and Seal, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6 and EV9, Volvo EX30/EX90, MG, Polestar and the rest of the Type 2 fleet. If you have already bought a charger, the electrician will fit it as long as it is a unit they can certify.
What the install involves
Site check of the switchboard, load and cable path. Dedicated circuit from the board to the garage wall. Mount, terminate, test and commission. Most Oran Park garages are a short, clean run. Double storeys or a meter box on the far side of the house take longer.
Some homes need a switchboard upgrade in Oran Park first: spare ways, RCD protection, or enough capacity. You are told that up front, not after the charger is on the wall.
Cost in Oran Park
A typical Level 2 install covers a quality charger, the circuit and commissioning. Switchboard upgrades, three-phase, or a long underground run are extra and quoted separately. Ask for an itemised quote before any work starts.
